Foreword:
IRS is short for integrated reception system. Chosen by new development, construction firms and multi occupancy, it offers a fully comprehensive array of Satellite, TV & Radio services to the end user.
IRS can best be described as 'everything to everyone', or the full range of TV services, normally within a communal system; UHF, satellite, FM and/or DAB. Residents are free to choose whichever services best meet their requirements. An IRS can be installed in any building from the smallest to the largest, both existing or new-build or even across a housing estate. Did you know that the vast majority of council owned communal dwellings use IRS!
The technology:
A communal antennae system designed to carry analogue and digital signals, this system is capable of providing residents with broadcast services from terrestrial and satellite sources. Communal aerial systems designed to older specifications are not able to distribute signals across a much wider bandwidth. Only an IRS has sufficient bandwidth to receive and distribute the full range of services. Only an IRS is able to deliver the choice that consumers demand.
